Today I chased all my submissions to Illustration Agencies. I decided to send samples as snail mail in a little parcel, containing amongst other things, chocolate money. After posting I realised this could be seen as a potential bribe, but it did fit with a general illustrated pirate theme that was in the parcel too..
When ringing an agency that gets 200 plus samples a week (day?) it’s helpful to say I was the person that posted you chocolate money – even if they hated my work they remembered the sweets! Anyway, no news is no news so will keep you posted.
Fred the fabulous flamingo has gone to print!! I thought you might like to see this pic of all the hard work laid out on the floor!
I have been working on christmas cards this week for the lovely people at Honeytree. Nativity pugs anyone?
I can’t stop drawing pugs – the trouble is they crack me up but I’m sure everyone else is getting bored of the subject. I’m not very confident at drawing humans so I think they may be a furry substitute. Actually I do walk past quite a few pug like people, so it’s not that much of a stretch of the imagination.
Also I realised it’s a bit unfortunate having a grim-faced troll in my header next to my name – its not a self portrait but some days it’s quite accurate!
PS. Fred the Flamingo artwork is mid journey as I type, flapping his way to the printers in Wales – please can everyone send positive thoughts to the UPS Van that I’m sure is carrying him safely (oh god I can’t bear to think about it) across the UK.
